MOS for older laying hens

150 hens aged 68 weeks received 0–2 g/kg MOS for 70 days. At 1–1.5 g/kg, MOS increased egg production and egg mass, improved protein digestibility, raised antibody titres against Newcastle and bronchitis, and reduced Salmonella and E. coli in the gut.

Practical takeawayIn late-lay flocks, 1–1.5 g/kg MOS can lift production and gut health.
